On February 18 and 20, Kelly Meyers and Saeid Vahidi, Creative Strategists in our Brand Design Group, taught a Masterclass on "Navigating Internet Subcultures" at Social Media Week New York.
Among other things, they explored the unwritten and incredibly nuanced rules of communities like Reddit, Tumblr and Twitter, and left attendees with a playbook on how to use these sites as sources for real-time marketing.
"Rule #1 of understanding Internet subcultures: Be authentic and know what your brand stands for."
That week, Kelly published a piece on the Social Media Week blog entitled "The Problem with Cross-Posting," a guide on how to master your brand's identity in social media.
Social Media Week is a worldwide event exploring the social, cultural and economic impact of social media. Its mission is to help people and organizations connect through collaboration, learning and the sharing of ideas and information.
