NEW YORK AND HELSINKI, FINLANDFinlandia Vodka and Code and Theory today announced a new Finlandia.com, a visually-immersive, responsive digital experience inspired by its “To the Life Less Ordinary” global creative campaign. The new scrollable, cinematic experience is accessible across all desktop, tablet and mobile browsers.

"The vision was to unify brand messaging at a global level by providing an immersive experience into our global creative campaign," said Alexander Sneen, Global Marketing Director, Finlandia Vodka. "Our previous site was outdated, so we chose to partner with Code and Theory to create a simpler, cleaner digital experience that would allow our brand to speak for itself. I think our new site captures this mentality quite beautifully."

"From the creative and tech strategy, to the final execution—at every step, our shared goal was to create a site less ordinary," said Steve Baer, Managing Partner of the Brand Design Group at Code and Theory. "We are proud to have partnered with the Finlandia team to translate their story and message to digital on a global scale."

The website is compartmentalized into two main "acts." The first is a dynamic scrolling experience—a strong departure from the previous site’s fixed navigation and hero image module. Here, the user is introduced to the campaign’s characters and brand world through a series of cinematic images and bursts of in-line video.

In the second "act," users are introduced to two main sections—"Drinks" and "Vodkas"—which are arranged in a visual grid, enticing users to explore the tastes, textures and possibilities of each flavor.

Wieden+Kennedy London provided visual assets for the opening global campaign section, which were shot by film director and photographer Pierre Winther. Code and Theory art directed the remainder of the site visuals, and led the experience strategy, design, front-end and back-end development.
